Dubai Police Cracks Down on Traffic Violations and Pedestrian Safety in 2025
In a concerted effort to improve road safety throughout 2025, Dubai Police has taken firm action against both motorists and pedestrians. Authorities reported the impoundment of 10,539 vehicles, including 3,434 cars and over 7,000 bicycles and e-bikes, while also issuing 4,709 fines to individuals caught jaywalking. These measures follow a wave of public concern, with specialized field teams deployed across six key areas to address nearly 1,700 complaints related specifically to reckless driving and disruptive noise levels.
To sustain these improvements, police leadership is utilizing data-driven analysis to pinpoint the most problematic vehicle categories and locations. By identifying trends in illegal modifications and dangerous driving habits, the force aims to refine its patrol strategies and launch more effective public awareness campaigns. Furthermore, officials are reiterating the dangers of jaywalking, reminding the public that crossing outside of designated areas is a violation of federal traffic laws that carries a Dh400 penalty. The initiative underscores a broader commitment to reducing accidents and ensuring that all road users adhere to safety protocols.
