Final Phase of Dubai’s World Trade Centre Roundabout Project Set to Open
Dubai motorists can look forward to significantly smoother commutes starting October 30, when the final bridge of the ambitious World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project officially opens. This new 1,000-metre, two-lane structure will slash travel times between Al Majlis Street and 2nd December Street from six minutes down to just one. With the capacity to handle 3,000 vehicles per hour, this bridge marks the successful conclusion of a Dh696 million initiative, featuring five bridges spanning a total of 5,000 metres designed to eliminate bottlenecks at one of the city's most critical intersections.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director General of the RTA, emphasized that these infrastructure upgrades are vital for supporting Dubai’s rapid urban and economic expansion. By replacing the old roundabout with a series of efficient, free-flowing bridges, the project will benefit over half a million residents and visitors, drastically reducing average delays from 12 minutes to just 90 seconds. The improvements create seamless links between key economic hubs like the Dubai World Trade Centre and the DIFC, ensuring the road network can comfortably accommodate the high traffic volumes of Zaa’beel, Al Satwa, and neighboring districts for years to come.
