US Forces Thwart Iranian Drone and Missile Attacks in the Gulf
The United States military has reported a successful defense against a coordinated series of Iranian missile and drone strikes across the Gulf region. According to US Central Command, Iranian forces launched several ballistic missiles toward Bahrain and Kuwait, all of which were either intercepted by defense systems or failed to reach their intended targets. Additionally, American forces neutralized multiple Iranian drones that were threatening both US personnel and civilian vessels navigating through regional waters. In a targeted retaliatory move, the US conducted strikes on a military ground control station located on Iran's Qeshm Island, situated near the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
While Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed to have struck US Navy assets in Bahrain, the US military has categorically denied these reports, labeling the claims as false. Despite the ongoing tension, the Pentagon confirmed that no American personnel were harmed during the exchange. This latest flare-up occurs against the backdrop of a fragile ceasefire between the two nations that has been in effect since early April, though recent provocations and an ongoing US maritime blockade continue to threaten the stability of the region.
