Dozens Injured Following Iranian Strike on Kuwait International Airport
At least 63 people were left wounded on Wednesday after an Iranian strike hit Kuwait International Airport, prompting a massive emergency response from health authorities. Among the casualties were travelers, airport employees, and civilians, who suffered a variety of severe injuries including head trauma, fractures, amputations, and smoke inhalation. In the immediate aftermath, medical teams deployed 25 ambulances to the scene to conduct triage and transport the most critical patients to hospitals, where seven emergency surgeries have already been completed.
The Ministry of Health has since escalated its alert level across all national medical facilities to manage the influx of patients. To bolster resources, the Kuwait Blood Bank has issued an urgent appeal for public donations of all blood types to ensure supply levels remain stable. Meanwhile, Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah visited the injured to assess their conditions and oversee the quality of care being provided, as hospitals across the country remain on high alert to handle ongoing treatment needs.
