Fire at Tokyo Elementary School Ends Without Serious Casualties
A fire erupted at an elementary school in Tokyo’s northern Kita ward on Friday morning, sending plumes of thick black smoke pouring from a top-floor window. Emergency crews, including dozens of firefighters, were quickly dispatched to the Takinogawa Daisan Elementary School to contain the blaze. According to reports from the scene, the fire was successfully brought under control and eventually extinguished.
While the incident caused significant alarm, public broadcaster NHK confirmed that all 300 students and staff members managed to evacuate the building safely.
