Oman extradites Indian fraud suspect
In a coordinated effort to combat cross-border financial crime, Omani law enforcement has successfully apprehended an Indian national wanted for his alleged involvement in money laundering and fraud. The Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed that the suspect had fled to Oman to evade legal repercussions in his home country, prompting a collaborative search operation between the two nations.
The arrest was executed by the ROP’s General Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Research, working closely with India’s National Central Bureau. Following the successful detention of the individual, officials finalized all mandatory legal protocols to ensure a smooth transition of custody. The suspect has now been officially handed over to Indian authorities to face trial for the charges brought against him.
