UAE Stands With Syria Following Devastating Flash Floods
The United Arab Emirates has officially extended its support and condolences to Syria following a series of catastrophic floods triggered by intense rainfall across the nation’s eastern territories. The severe weather, which began this past Tuesday, has caused significant devastation in provinces including Raqqa, Deir al-Zor, Hasakah, and parts of Aleppo. The resulting floods have tragically claimed lives, left many injured, and caused a number of individuals to go missing, while also causing widespread damage to local infrastructure and forcing countless families to flee their homes.
In response to the crisis, Syria's civil defence teams have launched a massive relief effort, managing over 900 distress calls and completing more than 550 emergency operations. These crews have been instrumental in rescuing trapped citizens, evacuating hundreds of students from schools, and relocating families from vulnerable camps. Amidst these ongoing rescue operations, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a formal statement expressing deep sympathy for the victims' families, while offering sincere wishes for the recovery of the injured and success in the mission to locate those still missing.
