Eight Men Indicted Over Plot to Attack White House UFC Event
A federal grand jury in Ohio has officially indicted eight men, aged 19 to 32, following the discovery of a sophisticated plot to launch an attack during a UFC event held on the White House lawn this past June. According to the Department of Justice, the suspects coordinated through various encrypted messaging apps and social media platforms, including Signal, Discord, and Telegram, to plan the assault. Authorities say the scheme involved using drones equipped with explosives to strike the North Lawn, intending to force attendees into a specific exit where snipers would then open fire on high-profile guests.
The indictment outlines two major charges: conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and conspiracy to commit murder on federal government property. Investigators allege the group targeted several prominent figures, including President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and business leader Elon Musk, among others. Although the event took place on the President's 80th birthday without incident, the severity of the planned operation has led to the detention of all eight suspects, who were apprehended across several locations following an FBI investigation.
