Unstable Weather Persists Across the Gulf as Rain Forecasts Continue

Sun, Aug 2, 2026(1d ago)World

The Gulf region is currently experiencing a stretch of unpredictable weather, with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman all bracing for continued rainfall and storms through the coming week. In the UAE, the National Centre of Meteorology has predicted that convective clouds will bring rain through August 6, fueled by a combination of low-pressure systems. This unusual summer weather, which meteorologists suggest may be linked to ongoing El Niño patterns, persists even as the region grapples with blistering temperatures that have recently climbed to 50°C.

Meanwhile, neighboring countries are facing similar conditions. Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology has issued alerts for thunderstorms across several regions, including Jazan, Asir, and the Makkah highlands, advising citizens to keep a close watch on official updates. Similarly, Oman is bracing for heavy thunderstorms focused around the Hajar Mountains, with the potential for rain and strong winds to spread into surrounding governorates. Authorities across these nations are urging residents to remain cautious and stay informed through official weather channels as the atmospheric instability continues.
