NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak: CBI Arrests Two More Suspects, Total Hits 13
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe into the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak by arresting two additional suspects, bringing the total number of detainees to 13. The latest individuals taken into custody include Dr. Manoj Shirure, a physician from Latur, and Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, a physics instructor at a Pune coaching academy. Authorities allege that Dr. Shirure played a pivotal role in helping students access leaked chemistry questions, while Shah reportedly obtained leaked physics material through a network of previously arrested accomplices.
Since taking over the investigation on May 12, following the cancellation of the exam by the National Testing Agency, the CBI has conducted widespread operations across 49 locations. Investigators have seized key evidence, including laptops, mobile devices, and sensitive documents, to trace the source of the leak across subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. As the agency continues its rigorous probe across multiple cities, it remains focused on dismantling the entire conspiracy before the rescheduled examination, which is set to take place on June 21 with heightened security protocols.
