Kuwaiti Security Forces Apprehend Six in Major Anti-Drug Operation
Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior recently announced a successful crackdown on illegal narcotics, resulting in the arrest of six individuals involved in four distinct trafficking and consumption cases. During these coordinated raids, authorities seized a significant cache of illicit substances, including 410 grams of crystal meth, hashish, and over a hundred sheets of synthetic "chemical" drugs. Alongside the narcotics, police recovered cash generated from illegal sales and precision weighing equipment, all of which have been handed over to the public prosecution for further legal proceedings.
This latest enforcement action is part of a broader, high-stakes battle against regional drug smuggling. Security agencies across the Gulf are intensifying their efforts to dismantle sophisticated distribution networks, underscored by Kuwait’s massive record-breaking seizure of five tonnes of Lyrica powder earlier this summer. Similarly, the UAE has reported a surge in interdiction success, having recently thwarted over a dozen smuggling attempts at its international airports. These consecutive operations highlight a unified, aggressive stance by Gulf authorities to secure their borders and protect local communities from the rising threat of manufactured and synthetic substances.
