US Establishes Task Force to Block Iran’s Land Supply Chains
The United States military has officially launched a specialized 20-member task force aimed at dismantling the land transit routes used to smuggle weapons and illicit materials into Iran. Operating out of Florida, this joint team of civilian and military experts will work alongside various government agencies to intercept advanced weapon systems, dual-use technologies, and sanctioned goods. This initiative serves as an escalation of the ongoing naval blockade already enforced at Iranian ports, which CENTCOM claims has already successfully prevented the export of over $25 billion in crude oil.
General Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command, stated that this operation is designed to tighten the financial and military grip on Tehran, hindering its ability to fund militant activities or restock its domestic weapon manufacturing facilities. In response, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps dismissed the effort as a futile attempt to force an economic collapse. Spokesman Hossein Mohebi asserted that the U.S. strategy would fail, insisting that Iran maintains robust communication channels with its neighbors that Washington remains powerless to sever or monitor.
