Saudi Arabia Executes Man for Crimes Against Minors in Mecca
On Saturday, November 7, Saudi authorities carried out a death sentence against Aaid bin Abdu bin Barky Aradi following his conviction for serious crimes against minors. The Saudi Ministry of Interior confirmed that the offender had committed indecent acts against a young girl and engaged in the sexual harassment of other underage victims in the Mecca region. Following a thorough investigation and a series of judicial reviews, the Supreme Court upheld the lower court's decision to impose the death penalty as a discretionary punishment, or ta'zir.
The execution was finalized following a royal decree, underscoring the government's firm stance against such offenses. Officials stated that the severe penalty was deemed necessary to deter potential perpetrators and protect the safety and honor of the public. This incident follows another recent case in October, where two foreign nationals were executed for committing indecent acts within a mosque in Mecca, reinforcing the Kingdom's commitment to upholding strict legal standards and maintaining public security under Islamic law.
