UAE Economy Reaches Dh485 Billion in Q1 2026

Tue, Aug 4, 2026(3h ago)Business

The UAE’s economy demonstrated robust momentum during the first quarter of 2026, with real GDP climbing 3 percent to reach Dh485 billion. A significant highlight of this performance is the strengthening of the non-oil sector, which now accounts for 79.4 percent of the total economy. This represents a solid increase from the 78 percent share recorded during the same period last year, underscoring the nation's successful transition toward a more diversified and sustainable economic base.

Growth was driven by a diverse array of industries, with financial and insurance activities leading the charge by contributing 17.3 percent to the expansion. Other vital sectors, including construction, healthcare, and information technology, also posted significant gains, further broadening the productive landscape. With the financial and insurance sectors adding 2.44 percentage points to non-oil GDP growth, the data confirms that the UAE's strategic focus on non-oil industries is effectively fostering a resilient and multifaceted national economy.
