Empower's H1 2026 profits rise 16.2% from supplying 73,415 refrigeration tons across Dubai

Empower, the world’s leading cooling services provider, has posted strong financial results for the first half of 2026, reporting a 16.2% increase in net profit to Dh468 million. This growth was bolstered by a 4.5% rise in revenue, totaling Dh1.5 billion. The company significantly expanded its footprint in Dubai during this period, signing 61 new contracts to supply 73,415 refrigeration tons (TR) of cooling capacity. These additions pushed the company’s total contracted capacity to an impressive 2.02 million TR, while its connected capacity grew to 1.71 million TR, now serving 1,796 buildings across the city.

The company’s broader financial health remains robust, with EBITDA climbing 7.5% year-on-year to reach Dh773 million. Reflecting this stability, Empower successfully distributed Dh437.5 million in cash dividends to its shareholders earlier this year. Looking ahead, the firm is maintaining its aggressive expansion strategy; it recently commissioned the design for a new district cooling plant in Business Bay, which will add a substantial 44,000 TR of production capacity. These operational milestones, coupled with CEO Ahmad Bin Shafar’s recent appointment to the board of the International District Energy Association (IDEA), solidify Empower’s position as a dominant force in the global cooling sector.
