UAE Rolls Out Dh1 Billion Interest-Free Loan Program to Revitalize Domestic Manufacturing
To bolster its industrial self-reliance and cut down on import dependency, the UAE has officially launched a Dh1 billion financing initiative. Managed by the Emirates Development Bank (EDB) in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), the National Industrial Resilience Fund (NIRF) provides interest-free loans to both budding entrepreneurs and established manufacturers. By offering financing that covers up to 80 percent of capital expenditure—capped at Dh100 million per group—the program aims to simplify the financial barriers for companies looking to build new facilities, expand existing production lines, or integrate advanced technologies like artificial intelligence into their operations.
This initiative is specifically designed to support strategic sectors, including pharmaceuticals, food processing, and medical supplies, which are vital for maintaining the nation’s supply chain stability. Beyond just building infrastructure, the fund provides support for working capital and strategic inventory management, ensuring manufacturers have the liquidity needed to thrive. As the UAE pushes forward with its "Make it in the Emirates" vision, this strategic move encourages businesses to invest in homegrown solutions, thereby strengthening the nation's global industrial competitiveness and fostering a more resilient domestic economy.
