ADIB Launches Dh1.75 Billion Rights Issue: A Guide for Investors
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) officially kicked off trading for its Dh1.75 billion rights issue on November 4, giving shareholders and prospective investors until November 16, 2026, to trade rights on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange under the ticker "ADIBRI26." Those who held shares as of November 2 were granted one right for every 34.14 shares owned. If you're looking to participate, keep in mind that buying these rights is only the first step; to actually acquire the new shares at the offer price of Dh16.45 each, you must formally submit a subscription application during the window opening on November 10 and closing on November 24.
It is important for investors to understand that purchasing rights on the exchange does not equate to an automatic share issuance. You must manually complete the subscription process via the ADX ePortal, participating bank branches, or the ADIB mobile app. For those who choose not to exercise their rights, they can sell them on the open market; however, be aware that failing to subscribe will result in a dilution of your total ownership percentage in the bank. Following the subscription period, the new shares are scheduled to begin trading on the ADX on December 18, 2026.
