Etihad Airways Resumes Regional Service to Bahrain and Kuwait
Etihad Airways has officially announced the resumption of its flight services to Bahrain and Kuwait, effective this Saturday, August 8th. This return to operations comes after a three-week hiatus, during which the airline had grounded flights to both destinations citing unspecified operational concerns. According to the carrier’s live flight tracker, EY 643 to Bahrain International Airport and EY 653 to Kuwait International Airport are back on the schedule.
The suspension of these routes began in mid-July, following a series of security incidents and regional tensions involving Iran that impacted several flight paths. In one notable instance, an Etihad flight to Bahrain was forced to return to Abu Dhabi shortly after departure, leading to a broader cancellation of services across the region, including to Dammam, Saudi Arabia. With the resumption of these flights, the airline appears to be stabilizing its network as it navigates the ongoing geopolitical challenges in the area.
