Dubai Airports has revised its long-term outlook, with CEO Paul Griffiths recently announcing that the company now anticipates annual passenger traffic to hit 70 million by the end of 2026. This updated forecast marks a notable shift from the hub's previous goal of reaching 100 million passengers within that timeframe. Despite this downward adjustment, the aviation sector continues to show clear signs of momentum, as evidenced by the 6.3 million travelers processed in July alone, representing a significant 26 percent jump compared to the previous month.

Current operational data highlights a steady climb toward full recovery, with capacity now sitting at 84 percent of pre-pandemic levels and passenger volume tracking at 78 percent. While the 70 million mark is the current official projection for 2026, Griffiths noted that these figures remain somewhat fluid. He suggested that if trends hold, there is a conservative possibility that the airport could still hit the original 100 million passenger annual target by the end of next year.
