Flydubai Weighs Boeing 737-10 for Future Fleet Expansion
Flydubai has officially acknowledged the recent FAA certification of the Boeing 737-10, signaling that the largest member of the MAX family remains a viable contender for their long-term growth. Following years of production hurdles that hindered the airline's expansion schedule, the carrier is now carefully reassessing its fleet requirements. A spokesperson for the Dubai-based airline confirmed that they are continuously exploring ways to diversify their aircraft lineup to better align with their evolving network demands and future operational goals.
Currently, the airline operates a streamlined fleet consisting of 98 Boeing 737 aircraft, ranging from older Next-Generation models to the more modern MAX 8 and MAX 9 variants. With the 737-10 offering a capacity of up to 210 passengers and improved fuel efficiency, it presents a compelling case for an airline looking to scale its capacity. While the carrier has previously navigated significant delivery delays from Boeing, this latest regulatory milestone provides a much-needed boost, and the airline intends to share further decisions regarding its fleet strategy through its official communication channels as they are finalized.
