ADNOC Pushes Local Manufacturing to Unlock Dh60 Billion in Value
ADNOC has announced a major strategic initiative to unlock over Dh60 billion in domestic manufacturing opportunities by 2030. By localizing the production of more than 200 essential items—ranging from heavy machinery and advanced chemicals to specialized electrical systems—the energy giant aims to fortify the UAE’s supply chain and reduce its dependence on imports. This move not only provides investors and manufacturers with long-term demand visibility but also ensures that critical equipment can be sourced locally, ultimately insulating the company from the volatility of global logistics and supply chain disruptions.
To facilitate this transition, the company is significantly expanding its "Local+" program, which now supports over 100 UAE-based manufacturers. By mandating that engineering and construction contractors prioritize these local suppliers, ADNOC is creating a more sustainable ecosystem for homegrown businesses. Supported by partnerships with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), this initiative is further streamlined by a simplified procurement process, making it easier than ever for local companies to qualify for contracts and secure the necessary financial backing to scale their operations.
