Modern Warfare 4 Official Reveal: Release Date and Gameplay Features
Activision has officially announced that the next installment in the iconic Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 4, is set to launch on October 23, 2026. Developed by Infinity Ward, the game promises a gripping narrative centered on a tense conflict on the Korean Peninsula. Players will experience the story through the eyes of Private Park, a South Korean soldier, while simultaneously following Captain Price on a global mission to prevent a world-ending threat. The campaign will feature diverse settings, ranging from the busy streets of New York City and Paris to intense tactical operations in Mumbai and Korea.
Beyond the cinematic story mode, Modern Warfare 4 is set to redefine the franchise's multiplayer experience with the introduction of "Ballistic Authority," a system focused on delivering heightened realism. The game will launch with 12 core maps and the innovative "Kill Block" arena, which uses procedural generation to create over 500 potential layout variations. Additionally, the fan-favorite DMZ extraction mode will make its return, with more specific details scheduled for June 7. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and—notably—the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, with pre-order incentives including early beta access and exclusive cosmetic rewards.
