Space42 Secures ADX Approval for Strategic Share Buyback

Sun, Aug 16, 2026(4h ago)Finance

The UAE-based AI-powered SpaceTech leader, Space42, has officially received the green light from the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) to initiate a share buyback program. Representing up to 2.5 percent of its issued share capital, this initiative is financed entirely through the company’s existing cash reserves. The move follows authorization from shareholders during the General Assembly Meeting held this past April and will be executed via open-market transactions, with regular reporting to ensure transparency in line with regulatory standards.

Managing Director Karim Michel Sabbagh noted that this decision underscores the company’s firm belief that its market valuation currently fails to capture its true intrinsic worth. By reinvesting in its own equity, Space42 aims to demonstrate confidence in its long-term growth trajectory while delivering tangible value to its shareholders. This strategic capital deployment follows a period of robust performance, including a 15 percent revenue increase in the first half of 2026 and a massive Dh18.7 billion government contract, further cementing the company's status as a dominant force in geospatial intelligence and satellite communications following its successful merger of Bayanat and Yahsat.
