RAK Ceramics Sees Double-Digit Profit Growth Amid Regional Construction Boom
RAK Ceramics has posted an impressive 15.5% jump in net profit for the third quarter, reaching Dh78 million compared to Dh67.5 million during the same period last year. This strong performance, driven by a 4.4% increase in quarterly revenue to Dh861.5 million, highlights the company's resilience despite ongoing global supply chain challenges and logistics hurdles. Much of this success is attributed to a surge in demand for tiles and sanitaryware within the UAE, bolstered by active local construction projects and reduced import competition. While markets like Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Bangladesh faced specific headwinds—ranging from regulatory delays to energy shortages—the company's robust performance in its core segments managed to offset these regional declines.
CEO Abdallah Massaad emphasized that the firm chose to maintain steady pricing rather than capitalizing on market instability, a strategy supported by their diversified manufacturing network and the use of locally sourced raw materials. Looking toward the future, the company is doubling down on its long-term strategy, including the development of a major tile production facility in Saudi Arabia slated for completion in 2027 and ongoing technological upgrades at its UAE plants. By balancing organic growth with strategic acquisitions like Kludi and Cookplay, RAK Ceramics is positioning itself as a premium, innovation-led global brand rather than a simple commodity provider, keeping a positive outlook despite the complex global economic landscape.
