Gold Prices Rise in Dubai Ahead of Fed’s December Policy Decision
On Wednesday morning, gold prices in Dubai saw a modest uptick as investors navigated the uncertainty surrounding the US Federal Reserve’s upcoming interest rate hike in December. According to the Dubai Jewellery Group, 24K gold climbed to Dh476.25 per gram, up from the previous day's close of Dh473.25. Similar gains were reflected across other purities, with 22K, 21K, 18K, and 14K variants also trading higher. Globally, spot gold rose by 0.44 percent, hovering around $1,947 per ounce, as market participants closely watched the interplay between inflation data and monetary policy shifts.
Market analysts suggest that the precious metal is currently finding support from robust central bank demand, which saw a record accumulation of 321 tonnes in the third quarter. While expectations of a Fed rate hike continue to exert pressure, potential diplomatic developments and shifting oil prices could influence future sentiment. Experts note that if the Federal Reserve adopts a less aggressive stance or if geopolitical tensions in the Middle East begin to ease, the market may stabilize, allowing consistent central bank purchases to potentially drive a recovery for the metal in the coming months.
