ADX Mandates New Investor Relations Standards to Boost Transparency
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has introduced an upgraded Investor Relations (IR) guide, marking a shift from basic regulatory compliance to a more strategic approach for listed firms. This new manual mandates that all companies listed on the Main and Growth Markets appoint a dedicated IR officer, maintain a specialized webpage, and provide timely, transparent disclosures. To ensure these standards are met, the exchange has introduced a penalty structure, where firms failing to adhere to these foundational requirements will face formal warnings or additional fees during their annual listing renewals.
Beyond simple enforcement, the initiative aims to help companies build long-term value through improved communication strategies, such as better earnings call management, robust ESG reporting, and effective crisis handling. The ADX plans to foster excellence by annually recognizing top-performing issuers who exceed basic expectations. Furthermore, the exchange is collaborating with regional partners to launch an Emirati IR professional development program, signaling a broader commitment to enhancing the competitiveness, transparency, and global appeal of Abu Dhabi’s capital markets in alignment with the Economic Vision 2030.
