UAE weather: Heatwave hits 47ºC as yellow alert issued for rough seas

Wed, Jun 3, 2026(45d ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted generally fair weather for Wednesday, June 3, though residents should brace for sweltering conditions. While coastal cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi will experience milder highs of approximately 39ºC, interior regions are set to face intense heat. Specifically, areas such as Al Quaa, Gasyoura, and Mezaira are expected to see mercury levels soar to a scorching 47ºC. As evening approaches, temperatures are predicted to drop to a more manageable 29ºC in Abu Dhabi and 30ºC in Dubai.

In addition to the heat, the NCM has advised caution regarding marine conditions, issuing a yellow alert for rough seas in the Arabian Sea that remains in effect until 4pm on Thursday, June 4. Residents should also anticipate breezy weather, with light to moderate winds shifting from Southwesterly to Northwesterly. These gusts, which may reach speeds of up to 40kmph, are likely to stir up dust throughout the day, so those prone to allergies or traveling should plan accordingly.
