Beat the Heat: Essential Summer Vehicle Care Tips for UAE Drivers

Wed, Jun 10, 2026(6d ago)UAE

As the UAE enters the sweltering summer months, local authorities are stepping up efforts to keep drivers safe on the roads. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has rolled out a proactive awareness campaign, stressing the importance of vehicle maintenance to combat the toll extreme heat and humidity take on cars. Motorists are being encouraged to make daily visual checks a habit, specifically focusing on tyre pressure, coolant levels, and engine oil. With high temperatures known to cause sudden tyre blowouts and engine strain, regular inspections are not just about car longevity—they are a critical step in preventing dangerous breakdowns that could lead to serious traffic accidents.

Beyond mechanical health, the RTA is prioritizing public safety by reminding drivers to keep their AC systems in top shape and their vehicles clean to easily spot potential leaks. The campaign also includes a vital warning for parents: never leave children unattended in a parked car, even for a brief moment. Interior temperatures can reach life-threatening levels in mere minutes, and air conditioning is not a sufficient safeguard. By parking in shaded spots, keeping windows and lights clear for visibility, and remaining vigilant about the well-being of passengers, drivers can play a key role in ensuring a safer summer on Dubai’s roads.
