Sharjah Ruler Orders Dh300 Million Expansion for University Hospital
Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, has officially ordered the immediate commencement of a Dh300 million expansion project for the University Hospital Sharjah (UHS). This major development will see the construction of a brand-new facility directly adjacent to the existing hospital, effectively doubling its overall capacity. In addition to expanding medical infrastructure, the project includes the construction of 300 new parking spaces to better accommodate the increasing number of patients and staff.
Since its inauguration in 2011, the University Hospital Sharjah has established itself as a vital non-profit institution within the regionâs healthcare and academic landscape. Located in the heart of University City and closely affiliated with the University of Sharjah, the facility is uniquely positioned to integrate advanced clinical care with rigorous medical research and education. By investing in this significant expansion, the Sharjah government continues to reinforce its commitment to providing high-quality tertiary care to residents throughout the emirate and the wider Northern Emirates.
