UAE’s Growing Influence at Eurosatory 2026
The UAE made a significant statement at the record-breaking Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, signaling its transition from a traditional defence customer to a central industrial partner on the global stage. By establishing a permanent Paris-based headquarters for the EDGE Group just before the event, the nation demonstrated a commitment to long-term collaboration rather than mere transactional engagement. Throughout the five-day exhibition, the UAE pavilion facilitated hundreds of meetings and solidified nine major agreements with European industry leaders, including a pivotal multi-billion-euro joint venture with Italy’s Leonardo. This strategic shift is further underscored by the rapid evolution of the EDGE Group, which has grown from a modest domestic entity in 2019 to a multi-billion-dollar global player today.
Beyond traditional hardware, the UAE utilized the event to debut three advanced AI startups—TACTICAAI, SIRBAI, and CENTAURE.AI—developed by the Technology Innovation Institute. These platforms, which focus on decision intelligence and autonomous systems, were met with strong interest from European markets eager for reliable, battle-tested solutions. Dr. Chaouki Kasmi emphasized that while these technologies are cutting-edge, they adhere to a "human-in-the-loop" philosophy, ensuring that AI enhances rather than replaces human judgment. As the UAE pavilion prepares for an extensive international roadshow across Egypt, Jordan, and beyond, the success at Eurosatory marks a definitive milestone in the country's rise as a sophisticated provider of defense and security technology.
