Sharjah Road Closures Announced for Infrastructure Upgrades
Starting November 7, 2026, the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will implement a three-month closure on a portion of Al Shaheed Sultan bin Mohammed bin Huwaiden Street in Al Dhaid. This temporary shutdown is part of a broader initiative designed to enhance traffic efficiency and modernize the emirate's road infrastructure. The closure is scheduled to remain in effect until February 7, 2027, and commuters are encouraged to stay alert for official updates regarding designated detour routes to avoid potential delays.
In addition to the works in Al Dhaid, local authorities have scheduled a short-term traffic diversion in Kalba for November 7. The Kalba Corniche Beach Road will be restricted between Al Qurm Roundabout and Kalba Roundabout from 4pm to 6pm to accommodate a community running event hosted by the Sharjah Sports Council and the Kalba Sports Festival. Motorists planning to travel through these areas are advised to check official transport channels for the latest traffic plans and alternative route maps to ensure a smooth commute.
