UAE Condemns Iranian Strikes Across the Gulf
The United Arab Emirates has issued a strong condemnation following a series of missile and drone attacks launched by Iran against Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, and Bahrain on Sunday, July 12. In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced these actions as a clear breach of national sovereignty, labeling the escalation a significant threat to the security and stability of the entire region. The UAE expressed its unwavering solidarity with these nations, affirming its support for any measures they deem necessary to protect their territories.
In addition to these regional developments, the UAE reported that its own air defense systems were briefly activated to monitor incoming threats. The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) clarified that the detected missiles did not cross into Emirati territory and confirmed that the national situation remains stable. These tensions have been further exacerbated by Iran’s decision to close the Strait of Hormuz, a move framed as retaliation for recent US strikes. As the conflict intensifies, international observers remain concerned about the impact on regional peace, particularly following the collapse of a ceasefire that had previously aimed to de-escalate hostilities in the area.
