Indian Consulate Extends Support to Seafarers Injured in Hormuz Tanker Attack
Representatives from the Indian Consulate in Dubai have reached out to offer assistance to Indian crew members recovering in UAE hospitals following a violent incident in the Strait of Hormuz. Just two days after two commercial tankers, the MT Mombasa and MT Al Bahiyah, were struck by Iranian cruise missiles, consular officials visited the injured sailors across medical facilities in Dibba, Khorfakkan, and Fujairah. During these visits, they checked on the well-being of the survivors and promised comprehensive support during their recovery process.
The attack, which occurred as the vessels navigated southern shipping lanes, resulted in significant damage and a tragic loss of life. Among those affected were eight crew members who sustained injuries, including four Indian nationals and two Ukrainians, with four individuals reported to be in serious condition. The Consulate confirmed it is working closely with UAE authorities, the involved ship management companies, and the families of the victims to ensure the injured receive the necessary care and assistance during this difficult time.
