Abu Dhabi Police Urge Worshippers to Follow Parking Rules During Friday Prayers

Fri, Jul 17, 2026(1h ago)UAE

Ahead of Friday prayers, Abu Dhabi Police have issued a stern reminder to motorists to strictly adhere to designated parking areas near mosques. Authorities emphasized that leaving vehicles in prohibited spots—such as main roads, mosque entrances, or behind other cars—creates significant traffic congestion and poses a danger to fellow commuters. Officials noted that these improper parking habits not only disrupt the flow of traffic but also obstruct emergency access, making it essential for worshippers to plan their arrival times carefully to avoid issues.

Under the Federal Traffic Law, those who park haphazardly or block other vehicles from exiting their parking spaces will be subject to a fine of Dh500. The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate highlighted that these regulations are in place to ensure the safety and convenience of the entire community. Motorists are encouraged to demonstrate patience and respect by seeking out authorized parking spots, even if it requires a little extra time, to ensure a peaceful and orderly experience for all those attending prayers.
