UAE President’s Diplomatic Visit to Slovakia Strengthens Economic and Regional Ties
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan traveled to Bratislava on July 29 for a pivotal working visit with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. This meeting served as a direct follow-up to the dialogue initiated during the Prime Minister’s trip to the UAE last year, highlighting the growing synergy between the two nations. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the steady advancement of their bilateral relationship, which has been bolstered by strategic economic agreements and the productive outcomes of the second Joint Economic Committee session held earlier this June.
Beyond economic collaboration, the discussions centered on high-potential investment opportunities in key sectors such as transportation and agriculture. The leaders also addressed the escalating tensions in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the Strait of Hormuz. Prime Minister Fico reaffirmed Slovakia’s commitment to a peaceful resolution, urging the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817 to ensure maritime security and the restoration of free navigation. Ultimately, the visit underscored Slovakia’s recognition of the UAE as an essential partner in fostering both regional and international stability.
