JLT Introduces Sustainable 'JLT Link' Electric Bus Service
Starting August 1, Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) is rolling out a brand-new, eco-friendly transportation initiative called "JLT Link." This service utilizes a fleet of four fully electric, low-entry buses designed to provide seamless connectivity between the community’s various clusters and the nearby DMCC and Sobha Realty Metro Stations. By offering 13 stops across the area, the service aims to simplify daily commutes for residents and office workers, helping them bypass the summer heat and avoid the need for personal vehicles for short-distance trips.
Passengers can easily manage their travel through the dedicated JLT Link app, which handles route planning, live bus timings, and fare payments. Each journey costs Dh3, with payment processed via a QR code system scanned directly at the bus stop. The service operates on two loops: Loop 1 serves western clusters and the DMCC Metro, while Loop 2 covers eastern clusters with a connection to the Sobha Realty station. Buses run from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm Monday through Saturday, with adjusted Sunday hours, and feature accessible seating for wheelchair users, underscoring a commitment to both convenience and environmental sustainability.
