Burjeel Holdings Sees 97% Profit Surge Driven by High Patient Demand

Thu, Aug 6, 2026(45d ago)UAE

Burjeel Holdings has announced a remarkable start to the year, with first-half net profits before one-off items soaring by 97.4% to Dh227 million. This impressive financial growth was fueled by a significant uptick in patient visits, which climbed nearly 10% to 3.7 million, alongside improved operational efficiency and the successful expansion of new medical facilities. The group’s strong momentum was particularly evident in the second quarter, where a rise in complex elective surgeries and robust demand for specialized services like oncology and cardiology helped more than double their net profit compared to the previous year.

Beyond these financial gains, the healthcare provider continues to strengthen its infrastructure and market position. With hospital revenue accounting for the majority of the group's income, Burjeel Medical City reached a record margin of 26.3%, reflecting the growing demand for high-acuity care. The company also successfully bolstered its balance sheet through an inaugural $500 million sukuk issuance, which was heavily oversubscribed, allowing for efficient debt refinancing. As the group continues to scale its network—including new openings in Dubai—leadership remains confident that their integrated platform is well-positioned to meet the rising demand for premium, specialized medical care across the region.
