For over half a century, the Clock Roundabout has served as the unofficial heartbeat of Al Ain. Since its debut in 1970 on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street, it has been more than just a piece of infrastructure; it was the city's primary meeting point, a place where generations of locals simply agreed to "meet by the clock." While the city has grown rapidly around it, replacing traditional squares with modern intersections, the roundabout has retained its status as a beloved local friend, even as it has evolved through several renovations to keep pace with urban development.

The most recent chapter in its story began in early 2025, culminating in a striking collaboration between the Al Ain Municipality and Swiss watchmaker Omega. The old structure has been replaced by a modern, illuminated masterpiece inspired by the iconic Constellation watch collection. This upgrade, which coincides with the UAE's 54th National Day, serves as a poignant tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s well-known appreciation for Omega timepieces. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the new site is designed to be more pedestrian-friendly, featuring widened footpaths and dedicated cycling lanes, ensuring that this historic landmark remains a vital, walkable part of daily life in Al Ain for years to come.
