Dubai International Airport Transforms into a Vibrant Jogging Track
This past Friday, Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3 underwent a unique transformation as it became a massive indoor jogging track for the second edition of the Dubai Mallathon. The initiative, which spans from June to September across various city locations, made its debut at the airport for an exclusive, invite-only session. The event drew a remarkably diverse crowd, featuring everyone from government officials and the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, to senior citizens and students. Participants, including members of the Community Development Authority, brought a lively energy to the terminal, jogging past baggage check-in areas and smart gates in an inspiring display of community health and inclusivity.
The event served as a perfect morning bonding opportunity for families, with participants ranging from two-year-old toddlers to 78-year-old active seniors. For many, like young Reyansh and his father, the early wake-up call was a small price to pay for the chance to engage in an active, communal atmosphere. With refreshment stations provided by Costa Coffee and groups from local special needs centers like the Senses Residential Home taking part, the atmosphere was one of joy and connection. By the time the final runners completed their loops, it was clear that the Mallathon had successfully turned a busy travel hub into a space for wellness, social interaction, and shared summer memories.
