UAE Students Create AI Innovations to Improve Hospital Efficiency

Sat, Sep 12, 2026(1h ago)UAE

Three visionary students in the UAE have developed groundbreaking AI solutions aimed at modernizing healthcare operations and tackling common hospital frustrations. Emerging as the top winners at the inaugural AI Builders Summit 2026, these young innovators showcased tools designed to streamline patient triage, optimize operating room scheduling, and provide personalized support for vulnerable groups. Hamdan Basheer’s winning project, an AI-powered referral system, uses specialized agents to analyze symptoms and patient history, ensuring that individuals are directed to the correct specialists while saving doctors valuable time on administrative tasks.

Other notable projects focused on resource management and patient accessibility. Bilal Feroz Khan introduced an AI platform that intelligently swaps patients into vacant surgical slots to prevent operating room downtime, while Khadeja Al Khazraji developed "SanediAI," a voice-activated companion tailored for the elderly and those with mobility challenges to navigate their healthcare journey with ease. Dr. Mujtaba Ali Khan of Burjeel Medical City praised these solutions for their potential to reduce administrative burdens and improve patient experiences. As these young developers look toward real-world implementation, the initiative serves as a successful blueprint for inviting fresh, outside-the-box perspectives to solve the long-standing logistical challenges within the healthcare sector.
