Sharjah National Oil Corporation Doubles Gas Production

Tue, Oct 27, 2026(53m ago)UAE

The Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) has achieved a significant boost in its operational capabilities, successfully doubling its gas production following the completion of the first development phase of the Hedebah Gas-Condensate Field. This achievement, announced on October 27, marks a pivotal step in strengthening the emirate’s energy security. By efficiently transitioning the field from its discovery in mid-2024 to active production in record time, SNOC has proven its technical agility despite navigating global supply chain and logistics hurdles.

The Hedebah field, the fifth onshore development in Sharjah, serves as a vital component of the corporation's long-term growth strategy. With appraisal results indicating excellent reservoir quality and strong production potential, the project has already seen successful drilling operations, including the deep-well testing of Hedebah-02. Looking ahead, SNOC is wasting no time; preparations for the next stage of development are already underway. The company aims to ramp up output over the coming years, with expectations for the field to reach its peak production plateau by 2028, effectively securing the emirate's future energy requirements.
