Sharjah’s Dibba Al Hisn Beach Temporarily Shuttered

Tue, Oct 27, 2026(57m ago)UAE

The municipality of Sharjah has officially announced the temporary closure of Dibba Al Hisn beach, effective immediately. According to the latest update, the shoreline will remain off-limits to the public until further notice as the local authorities carry out essential maintenance and site improvement projects to ensure the area remains safe for visitors.

This precautionary measure follows a broader mandate issued across the emirates after an oil spill was detected along the UAE coastline. In response, officials have temporarily restricted access to all public beaches and coastal zones to facilitate environmental assessments and implement necessary protective strategies. While residents had previously raised concerns regarding a foul odor in the area, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has reassured the public that these smells do not pose any direct health risks. Cleanup and containment efforts are currently underway, led by local and federal teams working to mitigate the environmental impact on the region's marine ecosystem.
