UAE Weather Update: Heat Rises with Fog Risk Expected Across the Emirates

Fri, Sep 18, 2026(50m ago)UAE

Residents across the UAE should prepare for a warm Friday, with the National Centre of Meteorology forecasting fair to partly cloudy skies and some low-hanging clouds along the east coast. Temperatures are climbing significantly, with Abu Dhabi expected to hit a sweltering 41°C, while Sharjah and Dubai will see highs of 40°C and 38°C, respectively. As the day transitions into the evening, thermometers are predicted to drop to the high 20s, providing some relief from the midday heat.

However, the weather pattern shifts slightly overnight as humidity levels rise, particularly in coastal and inland regions. This increase in moisture brings the risk of fog or mist heading into Saturday morning, which could lead to reduced visibility for early morning commuters. Winds will remain relatively gentle, moving from the southwest to the northwest at speeds between 10 and 30km/h, while maritime conditions are expected to stay calm across both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
