Dubai RTA and Dubai Airports Collaborate on Future Transport Plans

Fri, Sep 18, 2026(47m ago)UAE

To ensure Dubai remains a premier global hub, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Airports are intensifying their collaboration to streamline traffic and enhance infrastructure connectivity. Recent high-level meetings between RTA Director General Mattar Al Tayer and Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths focused on optimizing current traffic flow near Dubai International (DXB) while proactively developing robust road and public transport networks for the expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) and the surrounding Dubai South district. By integrating aviation growth with urban development, officials aim to create a seamless transit experience that keeps pace with the city’s rising population and visitor numbers.

These strategic discussions highlighted the necessity of an interconnected mobility ecosystem that evolves alongside Dubai’s rapid growth. Both organizations are prioritizing the alignment of future road projects with airport capacity requirements to ensure that passengers, employees, and logistics networks can navigate the city with ease. By fostering a flexible, future-ready infrastructure, the RTA and Dubai Airports are working to uphold the city's reputation as a world-class travel gateway, ensuring that every stage of a traveler's journey—from departure to arrival—is efficient, integrated, and well-connected.
