The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has announced an ambitious plan to bolster early childhood education by expanding the Al Ghad Nurseries network. By 2029, the initiative aims to provide 12,000 seats for Emirati children aged two to four, focusing on a curriculum deeply embedded in national identity, Arabic language, and local cultural values. The expansion will roll out in three phases, prioritizing regions in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra with higher populations of Emirati families, ensuring that young learners have access to high-quality environments that foster essential social and communication skills while identifying developmental needs early.

Beyond enhancing educational access, the project offers significant financial relief and professional growth opportunities. Eligible families will benefit from nominal monthly fees of Dh800, with specific exemptions for low-income households, those requiring additional support, and children of working mothers. Furthermore, the growth of the nursery network is set to serve as a major employment driver, with ADEK aiming to create over 1,000 new job roles for Emirati women. Through dedicated training and professional development pathways, the initiative seeks to empower local women to take on leadership and teaching positions within the early childhood sector.
