Abu Dhabi to Launch Seven-Bridge Network Connecting Ramhan and Jubail Islands
Abu Dhabi is set to significantly enhance its transport infrastructure with the development of a sophisticated seven-bridge network connecting Ramhan and Jubail Islands to the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Highway (E12). Slated for completion by the second quarter of 2027, this ambitious Dh872 million project covers over 166,000 square metres. Beyond the bridges, the plan integrates three tunnels, new road ramps, and utility corridors, all engineered to boost connectivity and streamline traffic flow for residents and visitors alike.
Sustainability sits at the heart of this initiative, with the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) committing to eco-friendly construction practices, such as recycling 90 percent of building waste and installing energy-efficient LED lighting. Eisa Mubarak Almazrouei, the DMT’s Director General of Infrastructure Development, noted that the project is vital for unlocking new economic potential and fostering liveable, integrated communities. This development follows a series of recent infrastructure investments in the emirate, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s commitment to supporting rapid urban growth through world-class connectivity.
