Sharjah Ruler Grants Employment to 717 Emiratis

Tue, Jun 2, 2026(45d ago)UAE

In a significant move to boost local employment, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, has officially approved the hiring of 717 Emirati citizens into government positions. This latest intake follows a successful period earlier this year, where 633 UAE nationals were already integrated into the government workforce during the first five months of 2026, further highlighting the emirate's ongoing commitment to professional development for its people.

Beyond immediate job placements, the Sharjah Ruler has also greenlit the Sharjah Programme for the Qualification and Training of Job Seekers. Set to run from June through November 2026, this initiative is designed to equip 410 local job seekers with the necessary skills to succeed in the labor market. Participants in this program will be supported with a monthly stipend of Dh6,000, representing a total investment of Dh14.76 million aimed at strengthening the future of the national workforce.
