Qatar Recalls Godiva Chocolate Bar Over Undeclared Allergen
Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has officially ordered the removal of Godiva Kunafah and Pistachio Milk Chocolate bars from store shelves. The recall comes after it was discovered that the product, manufactured in Saudi Arabia, failed to disclose the presence of eggs on its nutritional label. Because eggs are a common allergen that can cause severe reactions—particularly in children—health officials have labeled the product a safety risk.
This action follows a voluntary recall previously initiated by the manufacturer, as reported by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. In response, Qatar’s Food Safety Department has mandated that local suppliers pull all affected batches from the market, while inspection teams work to confirm that the items are no longer available for purchase. Authorities are urging anyone who may have purchased these specific chocolate bars to discard them immediately, especially if they suffer from egg sensitivities, as part of an ongoing commitment to public health and food safety standards.
