Opposition Alliance Targets Modi Government Over Alleged Misuse of Power
In a high-stakes gathering at the Constitution Club in New Delhi, leaders from 23 political parties under the INDIA bloc assembled to map out a united strategy against the BJP-led NDA government. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge spearheaded the criticism, accusing the ruling administration of systematically undermining the Constitution by weaponizing investigative agencies to intimidate political rivals. The coalition, which saw participation from prominent figures like Rahul and Sonia Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, and Akhilesh Yadav, argued that non-BJP states are facing deliberate discrimination while the country struggles under what they describe as widespread economic and social misgovernance.
Beyond the allegations of political victimization, the opposition alliance voiced deep concerns over the integrity of national institutions and democratic processes. They specifically condemned the government for the recent failures in the national examination system, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for his perceived betrayal of the nation’s youth. Looking ahead, the bloc announced plans to petition the Chief Justice of India regarding alleged electoral malpractices and pledged to hold regular, bi-monthly meetings to ensure ongoing coordination as they prepare to confront the Modi government on both foreign policy and internal social issues.
