Tragic Loss: Indian Expat Killed in Kuwait Airport Attack
The recent drone strike at Kuwait International Airport has claimed the life of Manzoor Ahmed, a 55-year-old Indian tailor who had been working abroad for three decades. Manzoor was on the verge of returning to his hometown in Madhya Pradesh to attend his nephew’s wedding, having been scheduled to board a flight on Wednesday morning. His family, who had been eagerly anticipating his arrival at the local railway station, instead received the devastating news of his passing. He leaves behind his wife, an elderly mother, and three children, including his 18-year-old son, with whom he had spoken just hours before the tragedy occurred.
In the wake of this sorrowful event, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait is actively working with local authorities to repatriate his remains, which are expected to arrive in Ahmedabad by Friday. Ambassador Paramita Tripathi has personally visited the local mortuary and met with other injured Indian nationals to ensure they receive necessary support. As regional tensions continue to impact expatriate communities, this incident marks yet another fatality in the ongoing conflict, highlighting the severe human cost of the recent military escalations involving Iranian drone strikes on regional infrastructure.
